Please seriously consider the invitation below from Kevin Hoar, ORP Field
Director:
It’s your chance to step up and make your voice heard as a
Precinct Committee Person (a.k.a. PCP) in the Oregon
Republican Party. If you haven't already filed to be on the May 2010
ballot as a PCP, then you can still "write-in" for an open position.
Anyone registered Republican for at least 180 days prior to April 27th 2010 is eligible to be
written in as a... candidate for any Precinct Committee Person position.
There are many open PCP positions left across the state and you can visit http://www.oregonrepublicanparty.org/node/16 to
contact your local county GOP
to find out where these positions are.
Being elected a PCP gives you a voice in how the Republican
Party in your county and in Oregon is run, who leads it going forward, and what
the party official positions on a wide variety of issues should be. You also
become the leader of Republicans in your precinct trying to make sure
Republicans get elected to office all around the state for all levels of
government.
Here's all you need to do to get a elected for one of these
open slots:
1) Write your name in on your Republican Ballot on the blank
line Write In candidates in the section of your ballot that shows
"Republican Precinct Committee Person" - usually towards the end of
your ballot.
2) Have a family member - wife, son, daughter, etc. - write you in as well.
3) Find a Republican friend, neighbor, living on your street or
very close by in your neighborhood to write you in. (must be in the same
precinct as you...)
TOTAL = 3 votes (that's the minimum you need to win a slot)
Of course don't stop there it you have more Republican relatives, friends, or
neighbors, the more votes the better. You will be representing them too.
Tea-Party PCP power
Great idea, especially with the achieved victory in the ousting of Sen. Bennett in Utah...Bravo!
